Discover Mary's Story

The Mary Giuliani Stephens story begins in 1914 when Mary’s grandfather, Evaristo, “Nonno” Giuliani emigrated from the small Italian town of Poggio Moiano to Ellis Island, New York.

Nonno soon moved to Pennsylvania, began work in the coal mines, and married three years later. From there, he opened his own grocery store, and became a father.

Mary’s Dad, Emilio, was one of six children born to Evaristo and Angelina. Like many of the “Greatest Generation,” Emilio served in World War II, came home, married, and started a family.

Emilio and his wife, Georgene Giuliani married in 1953, and Mary, born on April 23, 1955 was the second of six children. Emilio and Georgene have been married 64 years, and still compliment and bring out the best in each other.

Discover Jeff's Story

A lifelong resident of Western Minnesota, Jeff grew up in Browns Valley with his parents and identical twin brother, Jay. During high school, they started their own lawn business. They also worked with their father in his independent mechanic business as well as working with area farmers. The money saved was used to help pay for college…

Leadership Why Mary

1.

Mary is a mayor with executive experience balancing budgets, proposing policy and effectively running government, not just complaining about it. Mary finds answers to make her state and community a better place in which to live and work. It’s that simple.

2.

Mary is a bridge-builder. While all politicians say “I will be the one to be bipartisan,” here’s the difference. Mary’s bridges are built on the foundation of strong principles. Mary doesn’t live a political life. She lives a MINNESOTA life that happens to include politics. Mary is not out to score points or grab a headline. She’s here to make Minnesota a better place for all residents.

3.

Mary is the candidate best able to not just win the election but to transform the culture and office of governor. What Mary offers as a candidate are the attributes Minnesotans want from their elected officials: innovation, boldness, an understanding of government’s role and, most importantly, an understanding of what Minnesotans value.

My Stance On the Issues

Economy & Jobs

The foundation of a great economy is empowering the creativity and choices of individuals in a free marketplace.

Education

Minnesotans are rightly proud of our tradition of ensuring our kids have the best education.

Health Care

The federal government’s interference in Minnesota’s health care system has set Minnesota back, especially for small businesses and the middle class.

Spending

Too many politicians think our quality of life is determined by how much government spends.

Taxes

Governor Dayton raised taxes by billions of dollars, but we haven’t solved the problems that he promised higher taxes would solve.

Transportation

Government’s role in transportation is to enable the most mobility of goods and people across our entire state, in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

Life

I believe God creates all life, and in the sanctity of life from conception until natural death.

Natural Resources

The bedrock of Minnesota’s economy is our abundant natural resources and food production.

Second Amendment

I believe that the Second Amendment means what it says: that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
